Redirect Your Domain Address to Another Domain Address

What is Domain Forwarding? View All Domain Registration Services

Domain name forwarding lets you automatically direct your domain name's visitors to a different location on the web. You can choose to forward your inactive domain to a variety of places.

Now you can put any domain name to work, whether you've built a Web Property for it or not. Just select a domain name (or names), add forwarding, and any visitor who types in that name will be redirected to the existing site you designate.

Forwarding is especially useful if you have a site with a long, complicated address. Now you can just register a simpler domain name (easily done using one of the less common top level domains, like .BIZ instead of .COM, for example) and then forward it. It's that easy.

* You must have registered your domain through or transferred it to GriotSites to add forwarding or forwarding with masking to it.
+ To be used with existing Forwarded Domain(s).

If you are a Griot Property Owner, this method does not pertain to you. You will have to log into your cPanel in order to forward domains, mask domains and perform other domain functions.

How to Set Up Your Domain

Log in to your GriotSites Account.
Next to domains, click Manage.
On the domain you want to set up, click either Use My Domain (if domain is newly registered) or Add Website.
Click Connect to an Existing Site.

Choose from one of the following options to point your domain name to:
- A Domain You Own (other domains in your account)
- Websites (Tumblr, Squarespace, Weebly, etc.),
- Social Sites (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.)
- Online Stores (Shopify, Etsy, etc.)
- Media Sites (Flickr, YouTube, etc.)
- Somewhere Else (enter the web address of your choice)

Once you choose a forwarding destination, simply follow the instructions, either by clicking on the "Connect Domain" button or entering the correct Web Property's URL.
