How Do I Cancel My Account?

To get the 30-day money-back guarantee for your shared hosting, please cancel your account within the first 30 days of purchase. We cannot refund you until the cancellation request is complete.

Please note that our 30-day-money back guarantee does not cover refunds on administrative fees, install fees for custom software, or domain name purchases.

Only first-time accounts are eligible for a refund. For example, if you've had an account with us before, canceled and signed up again, you will not be eligible for a refund or if you have opened a second account with us.

Web Hosting Account Cancel Steps
• Cancel your account via the online form.
• You will receive an automatic reply confirming we have your request.
• Wait for a separate cancellation-confirmation email (up to 48 hours later).
• Reply back to the cancellation-confirmation email and ask for your refund.
• You must get written confirmation from GriotSites stating the amount of your refund.
• Please allow up to 15 days for your credit card or PayPal to show the refund.

Please also note that canceling your hosting package does not automatically cancel your recurring domain registrations. To cancel domain renewals, please submit a ticket to our Billing department with your request.

Cancellation of Service

GRIOTSITES.COM reserves the right to cancel a service at any time. All fees paid in advance of cancellation will be pro-rated and paid by GRIOTSITES if we institute our right of cancellation. Any violation of policies which results in extra costs billed to YOU (i.e. transfer, space etc.).

All of GRIOTSITES WEB HOSTING PLANS are backed by a 30-day money-back guarantee. If YOU are not completely satisfied with our services or support within the first 30 days of YOUR service,

YOU will be given a full refund of the monthly amount excluding setup fees (if any), domain registration fees, add-on/upgrade fees and overages. Setup fees are refundable only if the account order is canceled prior to account activation.

If YOU cancel, the full contract amount less any setup fees and overages will be refunded if GRIOTSITES is notified within the first 30 days following activation. This policy does not apply to any additional services such as overages, referrer logs, real audio/video, additional disk space, additional pop accounts, domain registration fees, etc. For credit card payment, refunds will be made to a PayPal account made available by the Customer after the 120th day. Our Refund policy will not be made available to Clients using wire transfers.

All account cancellations must be done via our cancellation form or YOUR hosting account control panel. Phone or email requests will not constitute acceptance of any cancellation.

What Happens After I Submit the Cancellation Request?

You will receive an email immediately confirming we have your request. If you do not get this email back within 1 hour, we did not receive your cancellation request and you will be held responsible for any charges as a result. Please contact us via customer service and make the cancellation request directly so that you won't be held reliable.

Once you know we have your request, please allow us 48 hours to verify your identity and close your account. Your account will remain active until you receive our second email confirming you were canceled successfully.

We typically offer a pro-rated charge for shared hosting when you have not used the time for which you paid. Please understand, we cannot offer a refund or pro-rated amount until after your account is canceled.

When will my cancellation be effective?

Unless you tell us otherwise, your account will be cancelled on the next renewal date, and you will continue to have access to your account until that time. For example, if your next renewal date is in 2 weeks, and you tell us you want to cancel, then your account will stay open for those 2 weeks, then cancel on the renewal date. If you want the cancellation to be effective on any date other than the next renewal date, please let us know when we contact you to confirm your cancellation, so we can cancel the account according to your instructions.

GriotSites reserves the right to cancel, suspend, or otherwise restrict access to the account at any time with or without notice.
Exchange rate fluctuations for international payments are constant and unavoidable. All refunds are processed in U.S. dollars, and will reflect the exchange rate in effect on the date of the refund. All refunds are subject to this fluctuation and GriotSites.com is not responsible for any change in exchange rates between time of payment and time of refund.

Customers may cancel at any time via a cancellation form. GriotSites gives you an unconditional 30-day money back guarantee on shared hosting solutions for any customer who paid the first invoice with a credit card or with PayPal.

Cancellations requested after the initial 30 days for Shared accounts will go into effect on the renewal date for that particular hosting package. Unless specifically requested, the account will remain active until the period expires. If the account is eligible, any request for a refund outside of the initial 30-day period will be given on a prorated basis with any previous extended term discount withheld. Refunds are to be determined once the account has been canceled. Payments older than 60 days may require a refund via PayPal or mailed check due to our merchant account policies and procedures.

Violations of the Terms of Service will waive the refund policy

Resource Usage
User may not:
1) Use 25% or more of system resources for longer than 90 seconds. There are numerous activities that could cause such problems; these include: CGI scripts, FTP, PHP, HTTP, etc.
2) Run stand-alone, unattended server-side processes at any point in time on the server. This includes any and all daemons, such as IRCD.
3) Run any type of web spider or indexer (including Google Cash / AdSpy) on shared servers.
4) Run any software that interfaces with an IRC (Internet Relay Chat) network.
5) Run any bit torrent application, tracker, or client. You may link to legal torrents off-site, but may not host or store them on our shared servers.
6) Participate in any file-sharing/peer-to-peer activities
7) Run any gaming servers such as counter-strike, half-life, battlefield1942, etc.
8) Run cron entries with intervals of less than 15 minutes.
9) Run any MySQL queries longer than 15 seconds. MySQL tables should be indexed appropriately.
10) When using PHP include functions for including a local file, include the local file rather than the URL. Instead of include ("http://yourdomain.com/include.php") use include ("include.PHP")
11) To help reduce usage, do not force html to handle server-side code (like PHP and shtml).
12) Only use https protocol when necessary; encrypting and decrypting communications is noticeably more CPU-intensive than unencrypted communications.
